Fixed Capacitors
Fixed capacitors provide a constant amount of reactive power to an electrical system. Primarily, fixed capacitors are applied to individual motor loads, but they can also be applied to the main power bus with proper treatment. Fixed capacitors are available in five basic styles: Econovar (/EPT), Non-fused (/NF), Fused (/F), Fused with Pilot Lights (/FPL) and our Premium Grade Three-Phase (3PH) units. The Econovar unit is in a low-cost, non-repairable enclosure. The standard Econovar comes non-fused, with pigtails.
The Econovar type is designed for easy installation and for indoor or outdoor use. The Non-fused, Fused, and Fused with Pilot Light units come in a standard NEMA 3R enclosure with an internal terminal or fuse block for installation. The three-phase units utilize three-phase cells with a rated life of 150,000 hours. These units come Fused with Pilot Lights as standard features. Fixed capacitors are available in low voltages (832 volt and below), from .5 KVAR up to 400 KVAR (If more than 400 KVAR is required, smaller units are paralleled together.
